Missouri trial lawyer Danny Thomas was recently honored for two of his most difficult cases last year. One case involves a 30-year-old woman whose partner was involved in a cult. The cult forced Misty Horner to undergo a painful home birth and then denied her medical attention afterward.
Mr. Thomas was able to obtain a $108 million verdict against the cult members. This was largest personal injury verdict in Missouri for 2012 and the third largest wrongful death verdict in the country.
The second case involves the Blue Springs School District and bullying. A 12-year-old boy killed himself after school officials failed to stop his classmates from tormenting him about his speech problems and cleft palate.
The financial portion of the settlement is confidential, but reported to be the largest ever in a bullycide case. The school district also established a bullying awareness day and the father of one of the bullies wrote a public letter of apology for condoning the harassment.
Mr. Thomas as assisted by Humphrey Farrington associate Jonathan M. Soper. Both attorneys specialize in taking catastrophic personal injury cases that are too complex and difficult for other law firms to handle.
