Honeywell Beryllium

Honeywell beryllium litigation is available through the law firm of Humphrey, Farrington & McClain. Our berylliosis lawyers are experienced in Honeywell beryllium cases.

Solid beryllium is not dangerous, however, inhaling beryllium particulates or dusts can result in acute or chronic beryllium disease. Symptoms of chronic beryllium disease, or CBD, include cough, dyspnea, fatigue, weight loss and acrocyanosis. The progression of CBD varies but death results in approximately one third of cases. Although production facilities may adhere to OSHA's exposure standards, cases of CBD continue to occur due to an over sensitivity to the substance in some individuals.

The dedicated attorneys, paralegals and numerous support staff at Humphrey, Farrington & McClain are experienced in handling complex litigation matters involving chemical sensitivity, asbestos and other toxic substances. Our occupational injury lawyers have experience in cases involving chemicals such as formaldehyde, trichloroethane (TCE), PCB's; hand or limb injury caused by vibration or repetitive motion; as well as occupational asthma or a chemical sensitivity or reactivity caused by exposure to fumes or dusts.

Our firm represented victims of chemical sensitivity involving trichloroethane (TCE). Trichloroethane is a man-made volatile organic chemical used as a solvent, often for removing grease from metal parts. TCE enters the body through skin contact or when a person breathes air or drinks water containing TCE. TCE can cause cancer and central nervous system changes, including unconsciousness, death and other bodily injury.

In two separate actions, our firm represented approximately 650 homeowners in Joplin, Missouri who lived on property where the water was contaminated by TCE that had been dumped by a local manufacturer. The TCE seeped into the underground aquifer, a source of drinking water for many of the families with wells. Once the contamination was discovered, the EPA mandated that the families stop drinking the well water and use bottled water. The claims were settled for nearly $12 million.
